We had a lot of sunshine today which helped melt off accumulated snow and ice from the roof. At sunset, skies were mostly cloudy but the clouds were fairly thin cirrus. The clouds got progressively thick over the next several hours. Closed at 23:17 when Gajus gave up. We reopened at a quarter to three when the sky had virtually cleared and Marcel had about an hour on the sky before Dave took over. He had problems with his TUI so I assisted in making the observations. Closed for the night at 06:00 barely into twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:50 SPIcam 100(1070) 205 56 -1.2/0.1 296 17 r' 0.93 17:56 NA2gdr -1716(35284)207 56 -1.1/-0.1 284 18 R 0.64 19:58 SPIcam 100(1023) 205 54 -0.7/-1.1 274 11 r' 1.30 22:31 SPIcam 50(958) 194 57 -1.1/-1.3 283 17 r' 0.87 02:51 DISslit -75(608) 212 79 -2.3/-2.1 355 10 - 0.98 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 31 11 13 290 (WNW) 63 PtlyCldy none 17:01 30 9 16 294 (WNW) 55 PtlyCldy none 18:01 31 10 14 288 (WNW) 28 PtlyCldy none 19:01 31 10 11 278 (W) 34 PtlyCldy none 20:01 31 10 13 282 (WNW) 35 MstlyCldy none 21:01 31 7 17 298 (WNW) 51 MstlyCldy none 22:01 30 9 11 295 (WNW) 37 MstlyCldy none 23:01 29 11 10 296 (WNW) 40 MstlyCldy none 00:01 30 10 18 284 (WNW) 45 MstlyCldy none 01:01 30 5 13 270 (W) 46 MstlyCldy none 02:01 30 9 10 267 (W) 56 MstlyCldy none 03:01 28 15 13 293 (WNW) 137 MstlyClr none 04:01 27 18 14 293 (WNW) 201 PtlyCldy none 05:01 26 19 14 269 (W) 239 PtlyCldy none 06:01 25 21 14 264 (W) 325 MstlyClr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
