The observer had fairly bright targets which helped a great deal. One slitviewer crash that didn' require stopping the science exposure. No time was lost. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half went smoothly. We had continuing high clouds but very fine seeing, and many spectra were obtained. I saw bands of increased read-noise on about half of tonight's spectra. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW01 E I/S --:-- --:-- Slitviewer crashed ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:58 Echelle 71(56) 151 75 -0.2/0.3 195 12 nd2 0.96 00:14 DISslit 50(822) 2 70 1.3/-0.1 243 10 - 1.05 00:16 NA2gdr -2000(29000)-14051 1.3/-0.1 243 10 R 0.76 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 33 3 6 213 (SSW) 203 mstly cldy cirrus 17:01 31 3 9 182 (S) 194 mstly cldy cirrus 18:01 32 -1 11 203 (SSW) 104 mstly cldy cirrus 19:01 33 -7 8 235 (SW) 91 mstly cldy cirrus 20:01 33 -6 12 215 (SW) 98 mstly cldy cirrus 21:01 33 -9 9 231 (SW) 128 mstly cldy cirrus 22:01 35 -12 13 236 (SW) 79 mstly cldy cirrus 23:01 34 -7 5 199 (SSW) 166 ptly cldy none 00:01 34 -10 8 214 (SW) 150 ptly cldy none 01:01 31 -2 6 231 (SW) 220 ptly cldy none 02:01 33 -10 10 268 (W) 114 ptly cldy none 03:01 32 -1 9 269 (W) 306 ptly cldy none 04:01 31 2 10 268 (W) 276 ptly cldy none 05:01 31 1 14 298 (WNW) 238 ptly cldy none 06:01 32 -1 13 299 (WNW) 138 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
