Several reboots of both the instrument and ICC (up and down the stairs) and we decided things were not improving for Grim. I swapped instruments to SPIcam and we cut our losses with only 0.2 hour lost to Grim (all of twilight was lost though, which could have been used for sky flats). Luckily my observer already had alternative plans for SPIcam if the weather wasn't good. Everything else went fine for the remainder of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGNDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU05 G I/H --:-- --:-- Grim "dead" (first IC dead, then came back alive after reboot, then the usual dropped quads problem, and finally nothing but black (all dead) after several reboot sequences and me giving up. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:06 SPIcam -190(823) 58 70 0.4/2.3 256 3 z' 0.76 18:17 NA2gdr -1530(35469) 53 72 0.9/2.0 357 6 R 0.85 18:59 SPIcam -20(970) -67 72 2.2/1.6 331 10 z' 0.6 00:10 DISslit -75(752) 71 57 0.2/0.3 224 10 none 1.2 00:17 NA2gdr -2007(28992) 69 58 0.5/0.3 211 11 R 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 35 -1 0 235 (SW) 180 Clear none 17:01 34 -5 2 307 (NW) 171 Clear none 18:01 32 -5 4 351 (N) 172 Clear none 19:01 36 -4 4 287 (WNW) 333 Clear none 20:01 35 -5 5 282 (WNW) 335 Clear none 21:01 36 -7 5 260 (W) 357 Clear none 22:01 36 -8 6 211 (SSW) 280 Clear none 23:01 34 -8 5 253 (WSW) 271 Clear none 00:01 33 -8 11 215 (SW) 184 Clear none 01:01 34 -10 12 223 (SW) 271 Clear none 02:01 34 -10 3 203 (SSW) 248 Clear none 03:01 33 -8 7 226 (SW) 269 Clear none 04:01 33 -7 7 267 (W) 238 Clear none 05:01 34 -13 11 272 (W) 197 Clear none 06:01 35 -13 15 284 (WNW) 200 Clear none 07:01 37 -17 11 280 (W) 50 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
