I power cycled (perhaps overkill, I didn't notice that the ping command was wrong in the MCNode when I typed it in and didn't get a na2alta is alive response, my bad). I had to wait until the observer finished his set of (3) 1200sec exposures to do a set inst=dis to get the TCC to recognize the camera again. No time was lost as I had the observer hand guide using the slitviewer. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan We had the first-half observer end a little early so that we could make the grating change from a non-standard set to the standard gratings the second-half observer wanted. That went smoothly, and we were soon observing in photometric conditions with very good to moderate seeing. High clouds began to move in after 02:30, and seeing degraded somewhat, but it was a productive half-night. Low-level pattern noise only showed up in two of tonight's DIS images, fewer than most recent nights. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGNDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- JH02 D T/S --:-- --:-- NA2 guider crashed ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:49 DISslit 50(799) 8.6 78.4 -2.5/-0.4 38 12 none 1.2 17:51 NA2gdr -2090(28909) 6.3 78.5 -2.4/-0.5 37 11 R 1.1 18:45 DISslit -25(690) -1.7 71.5 -1.6/-1.5 13 11 none 1.5 18:51 NA2gdr -1248(29751) -3.5 71.5 -1.6/-1.5 15 13 clear 1.3 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 29 17 2 243 (WSW) 151 Clear none 17:01 28 17 2 359 (N) 173 Clear none 18:01 30 11 14 33 (NNE) 249 Clear none 19:01 30 3 17 15 (NNE) 131 Clear none 20:01 29 0 10 19 (NNE) 227 Pt.
