During that time I discovered that the guider filter wheel was misaligned and required a remap. After 2 remaps the filter still had not properly aligned itself. It was then that the observer complained that he was having troubles slewing and offsetting. It was quickly discovered that the problem was that I failed to exit the gmech controller and it was causing commands to be backed up in the hub and tcc. This was cleared once I exited the device. Skies cleared enough to reopen at 21:45. We were forced to close again at 22:45 when the secondary temperature exceeded the dewpoint depression limit. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan The humidity stayed high for a few hours, then became more reasonable, and we were able to observe until twilight. Skies were clear, but seeing was bad, over two arcseconds. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW02 D T/S 18:05 18:11 tcc/hub congested commands ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:39 dis-slit -30(1062) 178 77 5.8/7.6 80 10 - 1.14 17:43 NA2gdr -3347(27652) 181 77 5.7/7.5 86 10 R 1.0 22:01 dis-slit -60(789) 142 74 0.4/1.7 75 30 - 4.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 46 11 8 60 (ENE) 57 prtly cldy none 17:01 44 11 7 22 (NNE) 72 prtly cldy none 18:01 41 17 12 92 (E) 195 mstly cldy none 19:01 39 19 17 80 (E) 334 cloudy none 20:01 39 19 21 78 (ENE) 205 cloudy none 21:01 39 19 18 90 (E) 249 cloudy none 22:01 33 27 30 74 (ENE) 496 mstly clr humid 23:01 31 28 17 76 (ENE) 634 clear none 00:01 30 26 21 77 (ENE) 651 clear none 01:01 28 27 14 82 (E) 660 clear none 02:01 28 27 9 89 (E) 761 clear none 03:01 31 22 10 158 (SSE) 219 clear none 04:01 30 22 7 88 (E) 241 clear none 05:01 32 20 5 119 (ESE) 241 clear none 06:01 33 21 4 109 (ESE) 228 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
