Seeing was moderate. The guider filter wheel required 3 remaps to prevent a problem with vignetting. The cloud camera quit on its own and was restarted without further trouble first half. At 19:40 /home on tycho filled and therefore the image headers will have missing telescope information and the telescope temperatures were not updating properly. Luckily focus was not changing a great deal during this time and images were not lost. The missing header information was corrected at 22:35, affecting images 24 - 40. No time will be counted down since data was not really lost and can easily be reconstructed upon request of the user. Cloud cover became opaque at 22:45 There wasnt anything threatening on the radar so we just sat open waiting for the next sucker hole. That opening came at 23:05. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J.Barentine The sky was sufficiently thick at the scheduled handover that I closed the dome while Stephane took cals. The weather never broke. Toward 03:00 it began to snow lightly outside; Stephane gave up for the night at 03:45. I stuck around for the late instrument fills. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW13 D T/H --:-- --:-- Guider filter wheel required remap UW13 D T/H --:-- --:-- IRSC quit and needed to be restarted UW13 D T/S --:-- --:-- home partition on tycho filled up. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:14 dis-slit -180(751) 153 76 1.4/3.8 236 20 - 1.31 18:16 NA2gdr -3414(27585)154 76 1.4/3.8 236 20 R 1.15 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 11:01 39 34 15 207 (SSW) prtly cldy none 16:01 40 26 14 252 (WSW) prtly cldy none 17:01 38 22 11 244 (WSW) prtly cldy none 18:01 34 22 13 249 (WSW) clear none 19:01 34 20 16 235 (SW) prtly cldy none 20:01 34 20 21 262 (W) prtly cldy none 21:01 33 19 17 273 (W) prtly cldy none 22:01 34 18 15 265 (W) mstly cldy none 23:01 32 22 22 278 (W) mstly cldy none 00:01 31 19 12 272 (W) mstly cldy none 01:01 30 20 14 298 (WNW) mstly cldy none 02:01 30 21 7 37 (NE) mstly cldy none 03:01 29 23 10 12 (NNE) mstly cldy lt snow 04:01 29 23 6 302 (WNW) mstly cldy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
