No problems. Nice to get back on the sky after this past weeks weather. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J.Barentine Second half was generally quiet. Only trouble was anomalously high background counts on the guider that interfered with guiding. There was no obvious source of this background, which was ~1-2k higher than normal. The camera temperature was normal and we were not pointed especially near the moon. The observers' exposures were fairly short, so the intermittent guiding didn't pose a serious threat. The humidity began rising rapidly toward 04:20. We closed shortly thereafter. By 05:45 there was dense fog outside as the humidity approached 100%. We never re-opened. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:25 dis-slit -180(1167) 195 77 10.7/13.4 276 8 - 1.01 19:27 NA2gdr -1000(30000) 196 77 10.5/13.4 273 7 R 1.1 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 60 44 7 265 (W) 0 clear none 17:01 59 41 14 224 (SW) 0 clear none 18:01 55 37 8 277 (W) 0 clear none 19:01 51 38 9 280 (W) 0 clear none 20:01 51 42 11 269 (W) 0 clear none 21:01 52 39 10 274 (W) 0 clear none 22:01 53 36 7 257 (WSW) 0 clear none 23:01 53 36 6 263 (W) 0 clear none 00:01 52 38 7 263 (W) 0 Clear none 01:01 51 40 7 211 (SSW) 0 Clear none 02:01 52 42 12 203 (SSW) 0 Clear none 03:01 52 43 13 216 (SW) 0 Clear none 04:01 52 44 11 183 (S) 0 Clear none 05:01 50 48 7 190 (S) 0 PtlyCldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
