Seeing was variable and about 1.5-2.0 arc sec. Clouds started moving in around 21:30 and the wind went over the closure limits around 22:20, when I closed the enclosure. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan The wind dropped and the clouds broke up somewhat after 23:00. I tried opening around 23:20 to catch one last SN, but the varying clouds prevented acquisition, much less observation. The second half program got on the sky as scheduled but wasn't really able to do much besides focusing until the clouds cleared off, around 02:00. After 02:00, skies cleared considerably, but seeing also worsened to 2 arcseconds after looking quite nice during focus. Everything worked well, except for one altitude magnesensor error which caused a slight delay during the period when we were incapacitated by clouds anyway. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:08 DISslit -300(-1015) 82 76 2.5/4.8 262 16 none 1.2 19:09 NA2gdr -3891(31000) 82 76 2.5/4.7 266 13 R 1.2 19:55 DISslit -150(-810) 15 57 2.4/3.4 258 18 none 1.1 19:57 NA2gdr -1476(29523) 14 57 2.4/3.4 260 20 R 0.98 21:18 DISslit -25(1035) 73 27 3.0/2.8 280 26 none 2.1 21:23 NA2gdr -2127(28872) 72 28 3.2/2.8 273 19 R 1.62 01:46 SPIcam 50(1123) 185 60 2.9/2.8 288 12 R 1.02 01:52 NA2gdr -56(36943) 188 60 2.9/2.7 294 17 R 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 32 18 292 (WNW) 664 Mst.
