Image copied to the image archive directory /export/images/keep/spicam/20041020 Cloudy skies prevented us from opening until 00:30. The first half observer threw in the towel for the night. Then by the time I did the instrument change, focused and checked pointing it was the beginning of the second half. The second observer did not really gain any extra time. At 0318 I lost communications with the guider. running down the troubleshooting checklist I determined that it was a hub problem and restarting the gcam process solved the error. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NM01 D I/S --:-- --:-- Lost communication with guider ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:47 dis-slit -90(1159) 176 77 8.2/7.7 284 19 - 0.84 01:03 NA2gdr -8864(24235)189 67 8.0/7.8 268 15 R+nd2 0.74 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 26 19 254 (WSW) 910 cloudy none 17:01 47 26 13 266 (W) 923 cloudy none 18:01 46 26 18 235 (SW) 1016 cloudy none 19:01 47 25 13 256 (WSW) 847 cloudy none 20:01 47 24 14 265 (W) 762 cloudy none 21:01 47 24 15 261 (W) 772 cloudy none 22:01 47 24 13 267 (W) 866 cloudy none 23:01 47 24 18 245 (WSW) 861 cloudy none 00:01 47 22 14 267 (W) 797 prtly cldy none 01:01 47 22 17 266 (W) 771 clear none 02:01 46 25 16 273 (W) 753 clear none 03:01 46 25 17 270 (W) 716 clear none 04:01 44 25 17 278 (W) 722 clear none 05:01 44 25 17 276 (W) 681 clear none 06:01 43 25 17 270 (W) 714 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
