McMillan Opened at 16:40 for cooling. Closed at 18:20 for thick clouds. Re-opened at 20:50, re-closed at 21:50 for clouds and wind. Re-re-opened at 22:30, re-re-closed at 23:45 for wind and humidity. Humid and/or cloudy for all of second half. Seeing was crummy, too. We lost a little time when the first-half observer unknowingly requested dark subtraction with his slitviewer image, so the MC had to be restarted. The first-half observer was also having repeated problems with the screensaver on his Mac killing his Remark connection, but this never happened during observing -- only when there was nothing going on. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CU03 E I/S 21:25 21:30 Ech SV dodark messed up MC ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:44 Echelle 57(246) 125 54 2.5/2.8 267 25 ND2 2.5 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 14 16 241 (WSW) 181 mstly clr none 17:01 37 15 24 263 (W) 280 ptly cldy none 18:01 37 16 17 268 (W) 1014 mstly cldy none 19:01 36 17 21 261 (W) 0 mstly cldy none 20:01 34 20 24 274 (W) 0 mstly cldy none 21:01 33 22 22 270 (W) 0 ptly cldy none 22:01 33 22 23 274 (W) 0 mstly cldy none 23:01 31 24 23 274 (W) 0 mstly clr none 00:01 28 25 16 276 (W) 0 mstly cldy none 01:01 27 25 20 268 (W) 0 mstly cldy none 02:01 27 24 22 262 (W) 240 mstly cldy none 03:01 26 23 17 245 (WSW) 109 mstly cldy none 04:01 25 21 24 263 (W) 97 ptly cldy none 05:01 24 20 21 270 (W) 79 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
