We had clouds in the W and S but some better sky elsewhere so I opened when she finished with her calibration lamps. Clouds got too thick to get any useful science around 20:15 so we closed up (on the slight chance that there might be some actual precip in this system). Nicole gave up around 22:30 as the chances weren't too good that we would be opening before her program ended. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Clouds thinned out a bit after midnight, and the second half observers said that they had a number of bright targets that they could probably shoot through the remaining scum. We opened up and observed through thickening clouds until they ran out of their bright targets and couldn't get anything else under the conditions. There was one instance of a bad magnesensor measurement which cost us a few minutes; it appears that we may still have to contend with those even though the recent work on the altitude has substantially decreased the scatter in the successful measurements. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW07 D T/H 01:16 01:26 bad magnesensor measurement ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:11 DISslit -50(899) 118 63 2.3/3.8 34 3 none 1.10 18:18 NA2gdr -963(46036) 120 64 2.0/3.7 56 2 R 1.08 00:46 DISslit 200(1078) 315 51 3.2/1.1 258 2 - 1.3 00:48 NA2gdr -316(46683) 315 51 2.9/1.1 261 3 R 1.07 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 21 7 302 (WNW) 374 Pt.
