By 20:00, we were on the sky. The night was mostly quiet. At 00:40 and then again around 02:35, the observers reported GRIM dropping quadrants but evidently recovering on its own within 1-2 frames. It happened on a few more occasions but did not require cycling the instrument. Just after 04:00, the site compressed air dewpoint sensor alarm tripped (see PR ID 2003139). I filed the PR, sent email to techstaff and silenced the alarm for the moment with a piece of tape over the reset switch. Before leaving for the night, I removed the tape so the first of the daystaff would find the alarm. Weather was good and seeing stable and subarcsecond throughout the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:49 GrIm2(f/5) 175(1318) 185 77 15.3/16.9 264 5 J 0.57 22:32 GrIm2(f/5) 100(1264) 323 46 16.0/15.5 190 8 J 0.86 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 65 37 15 286 (WNW) 395 PtlyCldy none 17:01 65 38 0 238 (WSW) 330 PtlyCldy none 18:01 67 38 10 229 (SW) 297 MstlyClr none 19:01 62 36 6 269 (W) 388 MstlyClr none 20:01 60 37 4 254 (WSW) 443 MstlyClr none 21:01 61 37 5 252 (WSW) 456 MstlyClr none 22:01 60 37 8 218 (SW) 405 MstlyClr none 23:01 61 37 10 190 (S) 471 MstlyClr none 00:01 60 37 6 186 (S) 463 MstlyClr none 01:01 59 37 6 239 (WSW) 415 MstlyClr none 02:01 59 38 7 207 (SSW) 460 MstlyClr none 03:01 58 39 6 222 (SW) 418 MstlyClr none 04:01 57 39 4 225 (SW) 449 MstlyClr none 05:01 58 40 3 218 (SW) 418 MstlyClr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
