I started cooling and eventually opened the enclosure (after doing DIS cals) around 19:05. The observer had some problems logging into SPIcam so I started their flat fields for them. I got 2 finished and they took control again. They still were having problems (this time with file permissions) and I took control of SPIcam again to try and salvage what was left of twilight now. Unfortunately it was a bit too dark so I proceeded to focus SPIcam. At 22:20 we went to switch to DIS, but the humidity was right on the edge of closure so I opted to close at this time as well. I switched the instruments and when I came back down we were over our closure limits with humidity for the 3.5m, as expected. Fog moved in sometime around midnight and pretty much stayed that way for the rest of the night. I threw in the towel around 03:30 when it looked pretty hopeless for the remainder of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:52 SPIcam -170(1112) 106 76 11.8/14.4 180 2 V 0.92 20:01 NA2guider 2690(51690) 109 77 11.6/14.0 176 2 R 1.24 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 62 43 4 186 (S) 188 Pt.
