At 0330, the observer reported that they lost sight of the slit and stars in the dis slit-viewer. After a few short minutes it was discovered that the na2 eyelid was closed. I attempted to reopen it remotely but that failed. I switched it to manual mode, and got the observer back to taking data. Seeing was variable and mostly poor throughout the night with winds parallel to the ridgeline. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UW04 D T/H 03:25 03:35 Eyelid failed - closed in man ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:50 dis-slit 65(1004) 98 58 12.0/13.5 167 13 - 1.73 23:55 NA2gdr 78(41078) 99 59 11.7/13.4 157 13 R 1.94 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 69 38 14 200 (SSW) 597 cloudy none 17:01 62 36 4 263 (W) 537 cloudy none 18:01 61 36 4 261 (W) 681 cloudy none 19:01 57 35 3 207 (SSW) 744 cloudy none 20:01 57 38 8 178 (S) 447 cloudy none 21:01 56 37 5 180 (S) 484 cloudy lt rain 22:01 56 36 11 178 (S) 355 cloudy none 23:01 56 35 7 200 (SSW) 309 prtly cldy none 00:01 53 38 13 163 (SSE) 278 clear none 01:01 55 36 10 181 (S) 464 clear none 02:01 53 37 9 178 (S) 379 clear none 03:01 53 40 9 194 (SSW) 173 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
