I took twilight flats in the evening for the lens program and then focused SPIcam (focus was around 1.1 arc sec but looked a bit varible, between 1.1 and 1.5 arc sec). I also took a test exposure to make sure the Galaxy/Lens were actually on SPIcam (which they were a lot closer to center tonight with the older pointing model that we implemented last night). From examining the incoming images the g' looked like the seeing was worse than the r' (especially the longer exposures, not suprising). I switched over to DIS after finishing with the Lens program and then focused the telescope for that instrument. Seeing was around 1.2 arc sec and still variable. Clouds moved in around 02:00 and closed us down for an hour. We opened again around 03:00 and remained open for the remainder of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:49 SPIcam 10(1591) 107 31 15.9/17.5 187 12 r' 1.10 21:44 DISslit 100(1096) 132 61 14.3/15.4 156 16 none 1.19 01:08 DISslit 160(1138) 155 56 14.2/14.3 168 19 none 1.10 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 70 34 16 265 (W) 278 Clear none 18:01 67 33 15 209 (SSW) 367 Clear none 19:01 62 32 8 205 (SSW) 397 Clear none 20:01 61 31 14 191 (S) 469 Clear none 21:01 59 34 13 160 (SSE) 500 Clear none 22:01 58 34 14 164 (SSE) 507 Clear none 23:01 58 34 16 172 (S) 402 Clear none 00:01 56 32 12 174 (S) 404 Clear none 01:01 58 33 13 180 (S) 345 Pt.
