Prior to focusing the telescope for second half a quick check of the collimation was done by taking an out of focus doughnut. The effect of the cateye mask was quite evident and nice. The central obstruction did seem slightly out of round but it was difficult to see if it was far from being placed centrally. Certainly some Shack Hartmann data is needed in the near future. The second half observer reported excellent seeing for exposures with spicam under 250s. For exposures longer than that trailing in the direction of tracking could be seen. This effect was very evident for a 600s exposure he took. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:23 dis-slit 75(1204) 80 44 15.3/16.6 265 1 - 0.97 02:07 SPIcam -50(1234) -22 62 14.0/13.7 269 3 r' 0.62 04:40 SPIcam 0(1275) 264 69 14.0/13.9 277 5 r' 0.53 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 63 50 2 210 (SSW) 201 mstly cldy none 17:01 57 51 10 128 (SE) 460 mstly cldy none 18:01 60 51 0 228 (SW) 439 prtly cldy none 19:01 61 49 0 210 (SSW) 505 prtly cldy none 20:01 60 48 0 311 (NW) 482 prtly cldy none 21:01 59 49 3 205 (SSW) 393 mstly cldy none 22:01 60 47 4 257 (WSW) 389 mstly cldy none 23:01 59 48 5 256 (WSW) 687 mstly cldy none 00:01 55 50 8 195 (SSW) 862 mstly cldy none 01:01 56 50 4 181 (S) 920 mstly cldy none 02:01 58 49 3 267 (W) 714 prtly cldy none 03:01 58 49 1 256 (WSW) 974 mstly clr none 04:01 57 49 3 275 (W) 701 mstly clr none 05:01 58 49 1 301 (WNW) 798 mstly clr none 06:01 58 47 5 279 (W) 1056 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
