The observers started taking their sky flats around 20:00. At 22:55 the observer informed me of a problem with the field he had previously been at about 2 hrs ago, now rotated approx 90 degrees. I examined the images taken 2hrs prior and there was some linear drift, but no noticable rotation in the fields. The past 30 min exposures were now showing a 90 deg rotation of the field and rotation about the center of the field. Jon Davis and I examined the logs and determined that something had slipped, the TCC reported and actual didn't match starting at around 22:30:13 (04:30:13 for Craig to look at the tcc logs). Jon found he could manually move the rotator when he went up to examine things (with the drives powered) and tightened the pre-load on the rotator. Kyle is going to keep an eye on his data to look for further problems. High humidity kept us closed for the remainder of the night and we gave up around 04:30. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC03 S T/H 22:36 23:50 rot slipped, preload tightened ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:32 SPIcam 50(1337) 74 69 13.0/14/2 125 22 r' 0.92 21:32 SPIcam 0(1242) 102 66 12.3/13.1 110 15 r' 0.75 00:14 SPIcam 150(1370) -120 76 13.1/12.8 86 7 r' 0.63 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 60 48 11 107 (ESE) 137 Mst.
