Clouds moved in shortly afterward and stopped me for about 30 mins. I finally was able to focus on a star around 21:45, with clouds still in the sky. I turned the telescope over to the observers at 21:55 to attempt to get data thru the clouds. The clouds thinned around 00:30 and I re-opened the enclosure around 00:50 hoping it wasn't another sucker hole. Of course about this time the humidity started to rise as well, but I got DIS focused and handed the instrument over to the observers. Although the humidity hovered around closure levels the threat of precip seemed minimal and I allowed the observers to get their data. They reported that the telescope seemed to drift (upward) about an arc sec. every couple of minutes. They were pointing in the SW. The weather co-operated for the later part of the night and the clouds nicely moved away. The humidity was still elevated, but below closure levels. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:52 DISslit 80(1046) 115 65 13.3/14.6 80 10 none 1.11 00:52 DISslit 130(1053) 100 53 11.7/12.8 117 9 none 1.09 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 57 49 12 134 (SE) 557 Cloudy Lt.
