Then we spent a few hours watching and listening to the thunderstorm. Then we spent a few hours watching clouds. Then, at last, the Sloan observers decided to give up, and conditions improved at once. We were able to get on the sky for about an hour and do some useful comparisons of the new echelle slitviewer vs. the dis slitviewer. They are comparable in sensitivity, allowing for the difference in pixel scales. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 03:56 Echelle -25(193) 115 63 16.0/15.8 51 11 ND2 1.16 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 67 45 7 74 (ENE) 702 ptly cldy none 17:01 70 43 1 93 (E) 574 ptly cldy none 18:01 71 43 6 86 (E) 617 ptly cldy none 19:01 66 43 7 85 (E) 726 ptly cldy none 20:01 63 44 13 85 (E) 1146 ptly cldy lt rain 21:01 60 45 16 75 (ENE) 1458 ptly cldy none 22:01 58 50 23 53 (NE) 1644 cloudy none 23:01 54 43 29 43 (NE) 575 cloudy rain 00:01 53 43 19 45 (NE) 315 cloudy rain 01:01 62 35 13 43 (NE) 486 cloudy none 02:01 64 33 9 0 (N) 795 ptly cldy none 03:01 63 33 4 10 (N) 710 ptly cldy none 04:01 61 34 9 41 (NE) 618 ptly cldy none 05:01 59 37 3 5 (N) 761 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
