Barentine Rain from about 18:30 to 19:00 and clouds throughout the area kept us closed for nearly all of first half. Ricardo gave up shortly after 00:00 when it was clear he would not have enough time to do anything useful, and the conditions were marginal besides. Sloan opened shortly before 00:00 and I contemplated doing the same. Seeing no imminent weather threats, I opened at 00:20 to finally get cooling. Second half was uneventful except for frequent periods of poor seeing, up around 2 arcseconds FWHM as confirmed by the numbers Sloan was getting from their guide fibers. We ran right up through the end of second half before closing at about 05:20 for cals. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:49 DISslit -650(584) 149 70 14.0/14.1 265 5 - 1.04 00:55 NA2gdr -6155(42844)153 71 14.0/14.0 266 5 R 1.02 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 69 43 17 247 (WSW) 718 MstlyCldy none 17:01 66 44 7 246 (WSW) 831 Overcast none 18:01 63 42 9 272 (W) 1090 Overcast none 19:01 52 46 12 59 (ENE) 1317 Overcast rain 20:01 53 40 17 145 (SE) 725 Overcast none 21:01 56 38 10 263 (W) 314 MstlyCldy none 22:01 54 39 16 222 (SW) 484 MstlyCldy none 23:01 53 40 1 131 (SE) 567 MstlyCldy none 00:01 58 35 1 252 (WSW) 456 PtlyCldy none 01:01 58 35 3 265 (W) 445 PtlyCldy none 02:01 57 36 1 196 (SSW) 376 PtlyCldy none 03:01 55 36 8 226 (SW) 319 PtlyCldy none 04:01 53 38 10 181 (S) 388 PtlyCldy none 05:01 51 38 8 129 (SE) 412 PtlyCldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
