The only oddity was some strange focus values: it started out negative and moved up towards zero as usual, but later plunged back down to -200. The most likely reason was that I closed the louvers and changed fan configurations (press on, telex on, intex off) for a borderline dust event in the evening, then I neglected to turn the intex fans back on. But I was surprised that the lack of intex fans would have such a strong effect (especially in the negative direction) if they were turned off after the telescope was reasonably cool. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:13 DISslit -125(1078) 253 58 17.0/18.7 223 17 - 1.08 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 76 12 25 214 (SW) 695 clear none 17:01 72 12 23 245 (WSW) 785 clear none 18:01 72 11 23 247 (WSW) 904 clear none 19:01 69 11 13 193 (SSW) 877 clear none 20:01 65 9 19 220 (SW) 1046 clear none 21:01 62 6 18 217 (SW) 1664 clear none 22:01 64 5 14 221 (SW) 2164 clear none 23:01 63 5 11 251 (WSW) 1977 clear none 00:01 63 3 8 239 (WSW) 552 clear none 01:01 62 4 6 263 (W) 555 clear none 02:01 62 5 2 254 (WSW) 575 clear none 03:01 61 6 4 196 (SSW) 556 clear none 04:01 59 12 5 260 (W) 622 clear none 05:01 59 12 4 187 (S) 627 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
