Ketzeback Overcast First half. The first half observers threw in the towel at 2345 and offered their time to the second half, Mt Stromlo Visitor. This worked out since by the time she finished some cals the clouds suddenly parted and I scrambled to open at 0015. However, as we were focusing the suckerhole closed in us as quickly as it opened and I was again closed at 0030. The clouds (and some rain) and lot of lightning above El Paso kept us closed until 0245. Some scattered clouds lingered until 0400 when things cleared off. Except for the open close routine, there was some difficulty again tonight with the new echelle guider camera (PR2003100) and a great deal of trouble with calibrating DIS at the beginning of the night (PR2003099). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DD01 E I/S 03:00 03:10 Echelle SV ICC problem ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:56 Echelle -102(-97) 257 66 10.0/11.4 176 13 nd1 1.16 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 66 39 10 207 (SSW) 655 cloudy none 19:01 58 40 6 221 (SW) 685 cloudy none 20:01 47 43 11 354 (N) 2192 cloudy none 21:01 50 41 12 15 (NNE) 1004 cloudy rain 22:01 53 36 10 0 (N) 670 cloudy none 23:01 53 37 7 271 (W) 869 cloudy rain 00:01 51 38 7 330 (NNW) 805 mstly cldy lt.rain 01:01 54 35 11 265 (W) 888 cloudy rain 02:01 51 38 5 175 (S) 772 cloudy none 03:01 50 38 14 179 (S) 856 prtly cldy none 04:01 51 43 12 177 (S) 785 clear none 05:01 51 42 11 175 (S) 862 clear none 06:01 51 44 16 167 (SSE) 727 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
