Russet and I looked into a NA2 filter wheel problem while Vincent took his calibration data with the Echelle. Russet checked the telescope pointing at the end of twilight and all seemed well. I handed the instrument over to the observer on time, after we did an initial focus for them. At 04:21 I switched over to the last program of the night. When I went to rotate the tertiary I recieved a failure message that the tertiary clamps failed to fully close. I called Russet and she tried some things to get the clamps to engage to no avail and eventually re-homed the tertiary and then retried engaging the clamps did the trick. By the time the problem was fixed there was no time left for the PU04 program. I used the next few minutes to check the pointing with SPIcam for Russet (which looked great) using a few choice reference stars. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PU04 S T/H 04:21 04:55 tertiary clamps failed to close ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:21 Echelle -106(86) 244 46 15.4/16.7 225 12 ND2 1.25 00:02 Echelle 26(57) 229 67 14.1/14.5 180 4 ND1 1.25 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 68 20 7 239 (WSW) 467 Clear none 17:01 64 19 16 267 (W) 514 Clear none 18:01 68 20 11 273 (W) 560 Clear none 19:01 65 19 8 272 (W) 767 Clear none 20:01 60 15 8 226 (SW) 837 Clear none 21:01 59 14 5 231 (SW) 987 Clear none 22:01 59 13 9 231 (SW) 644 Clear none 23:01 59 14 13 211 (SSW) 540 Mst.
