I opened just short of 20:00 as the dust counts and wind died down. Shortly thereafter, Ricardo noted that his TUI had stopped updating information about telescope position; evidently the displays read nothing. He restarted TUI and logged back in to no avail, so he switched to Remark. Everything was otherwise quiet into second half. About 02:30 clouds began to roll in from the west, evidently orographic. Andrew decided to use the downtime to take cals. At 04:30 he decided to call it a night, given that there was not enough time left for any more science observations. Seeing was *highly* variable tonight. The log below doesn't even begin to tell the whole story... ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:01 SPIcam -200(918) 92 76 10.7/11.9 262 27 V 1.39 21:03 NA2gdr 2286(51286) 92 76 10.9/11.9 269 25 R 1.45 01:16 DISslit -100(620) 190 78 8.6/8.7 260 26 - 1.10 01:18 NA2gdr 1096(42096) 192 78 8.5/8.8 266 23 clear 0.96 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 59 12 29 256 (WSW) 1936 Clear none 17:01 60 13 29 275 (W) 2672 Clear dust 18:01 60 12 21 249 (WSW) 1734 Clear dust 19:01 56 11 19 276 (W) 2636 Clear dust 20:01 53 13 26 245 (WSW) 1629 Clear none 21:01 52 16 17 257 (WSW) 1459 Clear none 22:01 51 17 24 261 (W) 1307 Clear none 23:01 51 16 28 260 (W) 1006 Clear none 00:01 49 17 18 264 (W) 807 Clear none 01:01 47 16 29 239 (WSW) 768 Clear none 02:01 47 15 20 248 (WSW) 825 Clear none 03:01 46 16 19 236 (SW) 838 MstlyCldy none 04:01 45 15 29 237 (WSW) 802 MstlyCldy none 05:01 42 18 21 255 (WSW) 956 MstlyCldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
