During first half the clouds gradually thickened until the observer admitted he wasn't getting any science at all. I considered closing, but as there was no real threat from the weather, I used the time for still more echelle slitviewer characterization instead. When it cleared up, I handed the telescope back over to the observer. During second half, it remained clear and the seeing dropped to around an arcsecond, so the observer was able to get plenty of science done. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:44 SPIcam -150(864) 128 61 7.5/9.0 231 17 r' 1.56 20:45 SPIcam -250(756) 128 61 7.5/9.0 231 17 r' 1.56 20:46 NA2gdr 1824(50824) 129 62 7.2/9.0 246 16 R 1.54 00:45 SPIcam -150(791) 319 46 6.3/6.5 276 18 i' 1.39 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 56 10 39 259 (W) 2028 ptly cldy none 17:01 53 10 25 256 (WSW) 1536 ptly cldy none 18:01 51 12 14 261 (W) 1521 ptly cldy none 19:01 48 14 25 254 (WSW) 1932 ptly cldy none 20:01 46 17 15 252 (WSW) 1567 ptly cldy none 21:01 46 16 21 255 (WSW) 1045 ptly cldy none 22:01 46 12 21 265 (W) 711 ptly cldy none 23:01 46 12 16 266 (W) 666 ptly cldy none 00:01 45 12 22 266 (W) 657 ptly cldy none 01:01 43 15 15 282 (WNW) 743 mstly clr none 02:01 42 16 17 274 (W) 813 clear none 03:01 41 15 21 284 (WNW) 757 clear none 04:01 39 15 14 269 (W) 798 clear none 05:01 38 16 11 285 (WNW) 972 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
