I handed the telescope over to the Adler folks around 20:00. It was too bright to focus until around 20:30 and the clouds were not helping either, but they focused and were on there way to image a NEO. The 2nd half observer gave them a little extra time and then took over around 21:00 to work on some engineering tasks with the new Echelle Slitviewer camera. After an hour of working on that to satisfaction, Russet started SPIcam observations of a GRB. At 23:30 Russet switched over to the Echelle to do a SN followup, the new Echelle slitview Mac froze up on her and we needed to go up and power cycle the machine to get it working again. I switched over to DIS for the next observer at 01:00. During the course of the 2nd half my Remark window kept crashing (I was using V2.84d and V2.82). The program would just quit at random times with no warning. I would get an error code 1 (not much use) that the program had crashed. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC05 E I/S 23:20 23:40 Ech SV mac crashed, hard reboot ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:38 SPIcam -200(826) 70 74 11.2/12.5 216 13 r' 0.96 22:08 SPIcam -100(1058) 137 48 11.3/11.7 220 11 V 0.93 22:11 NA2gdr 98(49098) 137 48 11.4/11.7 225 14 R 1.11 23:52 Echelle -98(-229) 16 62 10.7/10.6 217 16 clear 1.45 01:17 DISslit -125(992) -60 33 10.2/9.9 215 19 none 1.6 01:25 NA2gdr 982(41982) -58 31 10.2/10.0 216 14 clear 1.57 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 61 10 23 245 (WSW) 1229 Overcast none 18:01 58 9 16 251 (WSW) 1249 Overcast none 19:01 55 7 7 268 (W) 1310 Cirrus none 20:01 52 4 11 229 (SW) 1200 Cirrus none 21:01 53 4 16 227 (SW) 1186 Cirrus none 22:01 53 6 14 221 (SW) 1110 Cirrus none 23:01 51 4 10 232 (SW) 1471 Cirrus none 00:01 51 4 10 212 (SSW) 2174 Pt.
