In the next several hours, as a dry line advanced over southern central New Mexico, the clouds dissipated but the winds kept up, dust fluctuated and humidity began to rise. Shortly after midnight, Jenny gave up on my feeling that the weather picture was not likely to improve within the next hour. At that time the humidity was pegged at 92%, and we were still experiencing wind gusts to 40 MPH, although the dust had started to drop. The situation degraded after about 00:30, the humidity popping up to 100%. Vincent threw in the towel at 04:15. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 73 27 8 215 (SW) 760 MstlyClr none 17:01 71 24 9 224 (SW) 736 MstlyClr none 18:01 71 25 16 216 (SW) 614 PtlyCldy none 19:01 67 22 8 207 (SSW) 693 PtlyCldy none 20:01 57 41 20 86 (E) 2877 MstlyCldy none 21:01 52 42 19 85 (E) 3125 PtlyCldy none 22:01 50 42 33 73 (ENE) 2618 MstlyClr none 23:01 47 42 27 68 (ENE) 1944 MstlyClr none 00:01 45 42 29 69 (ENE) 1582 Clear none 01:01 43 43 33 76 (ENE) 1137 Clear none 02:01 42 42 34 70 (ENE) 2077 Clear none 03:01 40 41 24 66 (ENE) 2612 Clear none 04:01 39 39 29 75 (ENE) 1381 Clear none 05:01 38 38 36 72 (ENE) 517 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
