I did keep the pressurization fans on though. I did open briefly for Jon Davis to do some final onsky engineering tests (even though the gusts were above the closure, I kept the telescope pointed away from the wind). The telescope checked out to his satisfaction and I re-closed until conditions improved. Finally around 20:00 the wind gusts had dropped below closure limits and the dust counts were in an acceptable range so I decided it was safe to open. We focused and I had the observers on the sky around 20:25. I did the instrument switch at around 00:00 and the 2nd half observers were on to focusing around 00:15. Even with clouds moving thru around 02:30 for about an hour, the observers observered all 2nd half. The telescope and instruments seemed to perform flawless. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:17 DISslit -240(266) 99 57 3.6/5.2 266 16 none 1.69 20:25 NA2gdr -1184(39815) 100 57 3.7/5.0 266 17 R 1.46 00:17 SPIcam -100(592) -39 36 1.4/1.6 276 14 r' 1.71 00:27 NA2gdr 397(49397) -39 34 1.3/1.4 270 27 none 1.31 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 44 12 25 249 (WSW) 1314 Pt.
