First half observer pointed out a gradient with his spicam images while taking twilight flats. A similar problem was reported a week (and month) ago as a possible light leak. The problem was corrected by exiting the icc and starting again. The problem returned in some fashion at about 23:00. But this time the observer reproted he was getting no signal. Again exiting the software and restarting corrected the problem. It may be possible that we are seeing an intermittant problem with the shutter on spicam. Around 22:00 the guider mac froze up and required a power cycle to bring it back to life. Second half, even though seeing was average to good the guider was having some difficulty finding and retaining guidestars. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:50 SPIcam -210(929) 179 61 11.1/12.0 251 13 r' 0.9 20:52 NA2gdr 0(49000) 180 61 10.9/12.0 251 11 R 0.88 23:18 SPIcam -100(1024) -13548 10.7/10.9 268 16 r' 0.7 23:20 NA2gdr 653(49653) -13548 10.7/10.8 266 14 R 0.63 01:45 dis-slit -70(715) 286 68 10.3/9.9 270 10 - 0.8 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 66 18 23 228 (SW) 1105 clear none 17:01 61 16 5 286 (WNW) 1084 clear none 18:01 60 15 12 260 (W) 1164 clear none 19:01 56 12 16 265 (W) 1056 clear none 20:01 52 12 12 262 (W) 1386 clear none 21:01 52 11 10 257 (WSW) 1263 clear none 22:01 52 9 19 248 (WSW) 1185 clear none 23:01 52 10 14 264 (W) 1352 clear none 00:01 52 10 11 265 (W) 1404 clear none 01:01 49 11 8 266 (W) 1453 clear none 02:01 50 12 12 269 (W) 1474 clear none 03:01 50 9 13 273 (W) 1352 clear none 04:01 48 8 16 283 (WNW) 1307 clear none 05:01 49 12 16 271 (W) 1299 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
