We were able to use the blue side of DIS tonight. The instrument needed to be re-balanced (Jeff M. and Craig L.) before we could use it. Jeff also wanted a throughput measurement of the blue side. see below Blue Throughput measurement Feige 34 10:36:41.2 +43:21:50 Exposure 030422.0001b - .0005b Bias Frames 030422.0006b - .0010b Flat Fields - 12s Br. The seeing was very poor for the first half, 2.5-4 arc sec. The Princeton observers finished around 01:05 and I handed the instrument over to the 2nd half observer. While John prepped for the observations he allowed Russet to fix an Echelle pointing problem that was observed the other night, which only took her a couple minutes. Seeing improved for the 2nd half and was sub arc sec for the latter part of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:30 DISslit -300(233) 10 79 3.9/7.2 83 15 none 3.3 01:41 DISslit 100(581) 264 72 6.6/5.4 174 14 none 1.71 01:47 NA2gdr 2787(43737) 266 71 6.8/5.7 196 17 R 1.06 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 51 25 2 261 (W) 2679 Pt.
