We had just gotten set up on the first target, however, when wind gusts began to increase and soon went over the limit. We closed due to wind, and later stayed closed due to clouds -- high clouds that weren't actually threatening, but a bit too thick to observe through. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J.Barentine Conditions began to improve toward 01:00 so we opened again. There were a couple of waves of clouds between then and 03:00, but from then on it was largely clear skies and mediocre seeing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:57 DISslit -50(694) 60 48 7.4/7.9 249 27 - 1.56 19:01 NA2gdr 2600(43600) 60 49 7.5/7.8 245 27 R 1.58 01:54 DISslit 0(654) 206 53 6.7/6.4 265 28 - 1.19 04:22 NA2gdr 2000(43000) 40 82 5.4/5.1 258 22 R 1.64 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 21 16 260 (W) 493 cirrus none 17:01 48 20 22 245 (WSW) 532 cirrus none 18:01 47 19 20 244 (WSW) 544 cirrus none 19:01 45 17 24 249 (WSW) 514 cirrus none 20:01 46 12 31 266 (W) 513 cirrus none 21:01 47 9 23 267 (W) 540 ptly cldy none 22:01 46 9 17 265 (W) 506 ptly cldy none 23:01 47 9 14 261 (W) 391 ptly cldy none 00:01 46 10 17 239 (WSW) 505 ptly cldy none 01:01 44 11 20 258 (WSW) 438 MstlyClr none 02:01 44 11 28 262 (W) 402 MstlyClr none 03:01 43 8 21 268 (W) 301 MstlyClr none 04:01 42 12 27 264 (W) 263 Clear none 05:01 42 13 17 264 (W) 315 Clear none 06:01 39 16 16 269 (W) 504 Clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
