Barentine helped with checkout today and did the calibrations for DIS early in the afternoon for some tests he was working on. We opened the enclosure around 16:00. The observers started taking biases around 17:45. I closed the telescope to allow them to do their lamp cals around 18:10 and re-opened around 18:41. We had some glitches with Remark 2.82 crashing at APO so tonight we are running 2.80b (the official version). No observation time was lost due to these glitches on our end and it did not affect the users Remark. I focused around 18:40 with seeing variable around 1.2-1.4 arc sec. I rechecked focus around 21:40 when it looked like we were drifting, I got a couple decent 1.2 arc sec images and then the seeing blew up to around 1.4-1.6 arc sec while I was just finishing focus. From the guider over the next hour the seeing jumped around and then settled back down around 1.0 arc sec for the remainder of the first half. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was peaceful, with passing high clouds and variable seeing ( 1u per 0.1 cubic feet. TELESCOPE STATUS Primary, secondary, and tertiary mirrors in place and collimated. Primary support system operational. Mirror ventilation system in place. Telescope drives operational. Current Remark version: 2.82 Current guide software version: GIm Ctrlv4.1b2 Current TCC version: 2.6.8
