Variable seeing and light blowing snow did not stop us from getting a full night of good data. Even though blowing snow off trees kept the 2.5m closed all night our enclosure was high enough off the ground that there was no evidence that snow was blowing around the telescope. I needed to do a pointing correction at the beginning of the night that could not be attributed to magnasensor readings. Most likely the small nimber of points in the last pointing model was a good reason for the large correction. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:57 Echelle -100(-632) -22 48 -2.4/-1.7 358 21 clear 1.95 21:43 Echelle 40(-526) -103 40 -2.5/-3.0 20 17 nd1 0.81 01:44 Echelle 37(-543) 117 38 -3.3/-3.4 16 12 nd2 1.69 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 31 19 26 331 (NNW) 300 clear blowing snow 17:01 29 17 18 335 (NNW) 252 clear blowing snow 18:01 28 14 2 301 (WNW) 318 clear blowing snow 19:01 28 13 18 8 (N) 258 clear blowing snow 20:01 27 11 10 15 (NNE) 246 clear blowing snow 21:01 27 10 16 4 (N) 279 clear blowing snow 22:01 28 9 12 3 (N) 277 clear blowing snow 23:01 29 6 15 12 (NNE) 249 clear blowing snow 00:01 27 3 21 16 (NNE) 323 clear blowing snow 01:01 27 6 15 3 (N) 552 clear blowing snow 02:01 26 6 15 13 (NNE) 509 clear blowing snow 03:01 26 4 8 8 (N) 796 clear blowing snow 04:01 28 -1 15 30 (NNE) 923 clear blowing snow 05:01 27 1 13 19 (NNE) 952 clear blowing snow 06:01 27 2 6 4 (N) 878 clear blowing snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
