Russet came in at about 22:30 and decided to open in the interest of checking pointing after last night's pointing model of few points. After that, she handed control of the scope over to Julie. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Pointing was adequate according to a partial model that I did. We got going through varying high clouds, but had to close a couple of times due to humidity. Everything generally worked well except for one apparent Remark crash of a flavor we've seen before (version 2.80b, slitviewer control window froze up and would not close although the slitviewer itself was perfectly responsive). I advised the observer to quit Remark and restart, and I ran the slitviewer in the interim so that only a minute or two of time was lost. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:57 Echelle 4(-443) 282 41 -0.1/-0.1 297 9 clear 1.02 04:31 Echelle 81(-434) 164 60 -0.6/-0.6 323 8 ND1 0.79 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 24 19 258 (WSW) 3321 Overcast none 17:01 38 25 26 266 (W) 882 Overcast none 18:01 38 25 21 276 (W) 675 Overcast none 19:01 36 26 22 262 (W) 1316 Overcast none 20:01 36 26 19 260 (W) 1042 Overcast none 21:01 35 26 12 260 (W) 1025 Overcast none 22:01 34 26 14 261 (W) 161 MstlyCldy none 23:01 33 26 12 271 (W) 133 MstlyCldy none 00:01 32 27 10 282 (WNW) 151 MstlyCldy none 01:01 32 27 9 285 (WNW) 128 ptly cldy none 02:01 32 27 7 282 (WNW) 118 ptly cldy none 03:01 31 27 1 343 (NNW) 136 ptly cldy none 04:01 31 26 9 327 (NNW) 143 ptly cldy none 05:01 31 26 4 306 (NW) 145 ptly cldy none 06:01 30 26 2 324 (NW) 146 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
