We had some cirrus in the sky at sunset but seemed to be thinning and the first half observer shot twilight flats in i' thru them. Seeing was pretty good for the first half of the night (around 1 arc sec or better) but degraded during the 2nd half of the night to around 2.5 arc sec. It again improved to about 1.5 arc sec around 04:00. The observers opted to continue collecting data instead of spending time to refocus, so the seeing might have been a little better. Sloan was also reporting variable seeing conditions. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:27 SPIcam -250(554) 146 77 5.3/7.7 261 5 i' 0.75 18:37 NA2gdr 1149(50149) 156 78 5.9/7.4 254 6 R 0.85 21:37 SPIcam -100(665) 68 57 6.3/5.7 278 12 i' 1.07 21:48 NA2gdr 435(49435) 68 60 6.6/5.7 269 12 clear 1.00 00:16 SPIcam -150(620) -119 70 6.6/6.4 270 16 6585 1.00 00:25 NA2gdr -536(48436) -116 68 6.3/6.4 268 16 R 1.08 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 13 9 262 (W) 283 Cirrus none 17:01 46 12 7 263 (W) 366 Cirrus none 18:01 43 11 7 265 (W) 445 Lt.
