The dust levels finally dropped to acceptable levels around 19:00 and I opened and then focused the telescope to try to get some Lens data. Unfortunately, but not unexpected, the seeing was >1.5 arc sec and I turned the time back over to D. York for use with the Echelle. Humidity dew point depression reached closure levels around 21:25 and I let Don finish up the remaining couple of minutes on his exposure and then closed the building. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half alternated between high humidity and high winds. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:39 Echelle 129(105) 226 64 -1.1/-0.4 262 20 ND1 1.89 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 40 14 31 228 (SW) 16451 Clear Dust 17:01 36 16 20 255 (WSW) 12445 Clear Dust 18:01 34 17 20 268 (W) 10978 Clear Dust 19:01 31 21 25 270 (W) 2959 Clear none 20:01 30 22 20 264 (W) 746 Clear none 21:01 28 23 21 253 (WSW) 305 Clear none 22:01 27 23 19 269 (W) 156 Mst.
