Bruce used the twilight time to get flats with GFP. The sky rapidly cleared after sunset; winds increased in this time and the seeing was consequently fair. Seeing took another rollercoaster ride up to nearly 3 arcseconds before settling down in the neighborhood of 1.5 arcseconds later in the half. Humidity also backed off later, keeping us from having to close. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half went smoothly, with mostly clear skies. Seeing started out poor and slowly improved to moderate (2.5-1.5 arcsec). The only problem was a crash of the guider ICC, which didn't cost any time. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:06 gfp 300(820) 199 79 -3.5/-2.6 28 14 6724A 1.40 18:07 NA2gdr 3643(51643) 201 79 -3.4/-2.6 24 20 R 1.37 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 30 17 8 81 (E) 271 PtlyCldy none 17:01 27 17 7 19 (NNE) 0 PtlyCldy none 18:01 26 14 11 42 (NE) 0 MstlyClr none 19:01 25 13 14 41 (NE) 144 Clear none 20:01 23 18 16 66 (ENE) 109 Clear none 21:01 24 15 24 53 (NE) 87 Clear none 22:01 26 12 17 49 (NE) 49 Clear none 23:01 26 12 17 40 (NE) 39 Clear none 00:01 26 9 6 6 (N) 225 Clear none 01:01 26 9 8 38 (NE) 160 clear none 02:01 27 8 0 120 (ESE) 150 clear none 03:01 25 9 0 96 (E) 90 clear none 04:01 27 9 1 285 (WNW) 88 clear none 05:01 27 8 6 13 (NNE) 83 mstly clr none 06:01 26 9 2 359 (N) 67 mstly clr none 07:01 25 10 0 238 (WSW) 78 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
