There were 2 instances of the slitviewer locking up again but we recovered quickly on both instances. The new version of the TCC helped a great deal in identifying this problem with the help of TUI. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was very good, with moderate seeing, clear skies, and no problems of any kind. The telescope tracked through transit less than half a degree from the upper altitude limit with no troubles at all from the primary or the motors (however, management reminds observers to please warn us before taking the telescope above 80 degrees altitude, so that we can make sure there's no trouble next time as well). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC02 E I/H 21:00 21:00 Echelle Slitviewer Locked up UC02 E I/H 21:29 21:30 Echelle Slitviewer Locked up ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:52 SPIcam -150(860) 231 68 5.4/7.0 184 8 Red 0.59 17:58 NA2gdr 481(49481) 233 67 5.2/6.8 182 8 R 0.93 18:57 Echelle 20(-124) 211 65 4.9/5.7 169 3 clear 1.56 20:33 Echelle 146(19) 36 53 6.7/5.5 185 8 nd1 0.9 00:10 Echelle 77(-2) 64 37 5.8/5.2 252 13 ND2 1.47 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 48 21 10 202 (SSW) 227 clear none 17:01 42 25 7 195 (SSW) 383 clear none 18:01 41 19 8 179 (S) 159 clear none 19:01 39 22 6 127 (SE) 238 clear none 20:01 44 -1 12 209 (SSW) 160 clear none 21:01 45 3 17 211 (SSW) 110 mstly cldy none 22:01 42 10 13 202 (SSW) 297 clear none 23:01 44 8 12 234 (SW) 200 clear none 00:01 43 12 15 231 (SW) 214 mstly clr none 01:01 43 13 16 229 (SW) 159 mstly clr none 02:01 41 23 16 199 (SSW) 237 clear none 03:01 41 29 12 190 (S) 304 clear none 04:01 41 28 11 218 (SW) 292 clear none 05:01 41 26 13 241 (WSW) 198 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
