To quote Peter, he could count them on one hand. The second half observer choose to invoke the G.Wallerstein weather rule of waiting 1 hour per meter of aperature. Sure enough, when this limit was near the end the skies appeared to clear. I was not convinced it wasnt a sucker hole and made him wait until 0400 when I decided it was safe. Sure enough, as soon as I opened the enclosure the skies became completely overcast. The Sloanies had packed it in by now but we forged on. Staying open as long as possible into twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:34 dis-slit -200(635) 112 71 3.1/5.3 257 14 - 1.1 20:37 NA2gdr 492(44492) 114 72 3.0/5.2 233 13 R 0.9 04:11 dis-slit -100(561) 179 77 1.7/1.9 274 12 - 0.9 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 43 25 8 229 (SW) 374 mstly cldy none 17:01 37 32 13 213 (SSW) 445 mstly cldy none 18:01 36 33 12 195 (SSW) 834 mstly cldy none 19:01 36 33 13 219 (SW) 1130 mstly cldy none 20:01 38 21 14 264 (W) 436 mstly cldy none 21:01 37 26 12 242 (WSW) 505 mstly cldy none 22:01 38 25 10 223 (SW) 420 mstly cldy none 23:01 37 25 9 233 (SW) 402 mstly cldy none 00:01 36 25 12 231 (SW) 368 mstly cldy none 01:01 36 28 11 239 (WSW) 428 mstly cldy none 02:01 36 24 11 271 (W) 482 mstly cldy none 03:01 36 20 13 284 (WNW) 506 mstly cldy none 04:01 35 18 15 283 (WNW) 490 mstly cldy none 05:01 34 17 14 277 (W) 462 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
