Did a partial checkout in the 18:00-19:00 hour, "partial" in that I did not attempt test slews. This is because the relative humidity both in the enclosure and outside was hovering around 100%, and rather than risk condensing water on the primary, test slews could be performed later. The skies cleared somewhat toward the middle of the half, but the humidity stayed pegged near 100%. Later, toward the shift change, the skies clouded up again. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan It remained foggy, humid, and/or cloudy for most of second half. Around 04:00, I opened the cloudcam, but even if I trusted the humidity to stay down (which I didn't), the sky conditions were not promising. The observers gave up an hour before twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 32 23 253 (WSW) 922 Overcast fog,lt.rain 17:01 38 31 17 269 (W) 962 Overcast fog,lt.rain 18:01 38 32 16 287 (WNW) 1161 Overcast fog,lt.rain 19:01 37 32 11 269 (W) 2114 MstlyCldy fog 20:01 37 37 13 277 (W) 8048 MstlyCldy fog 21:01 37 37 13 278 (W) 7075 PtlyCldy fog 22:01 36 35 18 280 (W) 317 MstlyClr fog 23:01 36 35 19 290 (WNW) 315 MstlyClr fog 00:01 36 34 15 280 (W) 418 MstlyCldy fog 01:01 36 34 21 277 (W) 445 MstlyCldy fog 02:01 36 31 18 294 (WNW) 548 mstly cldy humid 03:01 36 30 21 294 (WNW) 547 mstly cldy humid 04:01 35 29 15 289 (WNW) 468 ptly cldy none 05:01 35 32 19 294 (WNW) 412 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
