Although there was no evidence on radar or satellite I closed after walking outside. Some of the clouds appeared dark and fearing they possibly contained moisture I closed the dome. Just as quickly as they appeared they disappeared. We opened again an hour later. The observer was using TUI tonight and reported that the offsets have the wrong sign in the 'x' direction as reported by the the slitviewer. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half was peaceful and mostly clear, with good seeing -- at least, it was clear when I went outside, as far as I could tell once the moon set. The cloud camera images were inaccessible the entire time because hoggpt wasn't responding. The gmonitor wasn't working (because it couldn't get a cloudcam image, perhaps?), so I couldn't monitor the guide star brightness very well. And of course the weather satellites have trouble between 01:00 and 05:00 at this time of year. There was a probably-false oxygen depletion alarm on the 2.5m and some unfamiliar wiggles on the PMSS C load cell. Otherwise, everything worked perfectly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:22 dis-slit 0(1032) 86 57 12.7/14.2 308 8 - 0.98 19:29 NA2gdr 3569(44569) 87 58 12.6/14.0 314 7 R 0.91 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 59 37 9 280 (W) 252 clear none 17:01 60 34 11 286 (WNW) 193 clear none 18:01 57 33 3 326 (NW) 200 clear none 19:01 55 35 7 325 (NW) 237 clear none 20:01 53 37 5 267 (W) 246 clear none 21:01 53 39 4 247 (WSW) 348 prtly cldy none 22:01 54 39 9 207 (SSW) 316 clear none 23:01 54 40 8 193 (SSW) 347 cloudy none 00:01 52 39 2 195 (SSW) 345 clear none 01:01 51 39 0 144 (SE) 372 mstly clr none 02:01 52 39 1 181 (S) 369 mstly clr none 03:01 53 32 3 187 (S) 269 mstly clr none 04:01 53 35 6 180 (S) 244 mstly clr none 05:01 52 36 9 181 (S) 239 mstly clr none 06:01 51 37 11 175 (S) 245 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
