Seeing was good. Thin cirrus and a westerly wind both helped the conditions. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Aside from some confusion about exactly which grating set the observer wanted, which caused a brief delay at midnight, everything went very well. Seeing was good or very good and stable. Clouds gradually decreased over the course of the morning. A faint aurora was seen around 0230. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:30 dis-slit -75(812) 151 65 9.1/12.1 284 11 - 0.99 18:37 NA2gdr 1538(45538) 155 66 9.1/11.8 278 9 R 0.97 21:25 NA2gdr -3853(40146)287 41 8.3/8.6 262 10 R 0.93 00:28 DISslit 150(948) 227 47 9.4/9.0 283 11 - 1.08 00:30 NA2gdr -258(43741) 228 47 9.4/8.9 291 14 R 1.03 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 52 19 5 263 (W) 401 mstly cldy cirrus 17:01 50 18 5 265 (W) 291 mstly cldy cirrus 18:01 49 17 9 298 (WNW) 207 mstly cldy cirrus 19:01 48 17 12 303 (WNW) 364 mstly cldy cirrus 20:01 47 18 9 265 (W) 349 mstly cldy cirrus 21:01 47 18 12 245 (WSW) 373 mstly cldy cirrus 22:01 48 18 9 263 (W) 476 mstly cldy cirrus 23:01 48 18 10 267 (W) 377 cirrus none 00:01 49 18 13 280 (W) 347 cirrus none 01:01 49 19 12 291 (WNW) 330 cirrus none 02:01 50 20 7 296 (WNW) 359 mstly clr none 03:01 49 20 6 319 (NW) 406 mstly clr none 04:01 49 19 8 317 (NW) 450 clear none 05:01 49 23 3 273 (W) 240 clear none 06:01 49 23 9 327 (NNW) 298 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
