But there were still frequent PSF blowups and apparent windshake episodes. We had a pointing problem at one point which I finally figured out was due to a bad magnesensor measurement, possibly associated with the recent steep drops in temperature; we had similar difficulties last winter. A second magnesensor incident occurred while the observers were catching some standards in the morning twilight, but I caught that incident faster. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NM03 D T/H 03:05 03:17 bad magnesensor measurement ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:40 dis-slit 25(426) 107 78 -0.7/1.2 31 17 - 1.32 18:42 NA2gdr 1114(45114) 108 79 -0.9/1.1 27 16 R 1.4 21:23 dis-slit 75(417) 162 55 -0.4/-1.0 31 15 - 1.9 21:23 NA2gdr 1114(45114) 162 55 -0.4/-1.0 31 15 clear 2.0 00:08 dis-slit 110(493) 222 74 1.8/0.9 70 20 - 1.76 00:12 NA2gdr 1750(45750) 225 74 1.8/0.9 64 17 clear 1.7 -------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 11:01 28 24 0 22 (NNE) 824 clear none 16:01 31 22 1 297 (WNW) 755 clear none 17:01 30 20 8 356 (N) 729 clear none 18:01 30 20 14 24 (NNE) 964 clear none 19:01 31 12 14 38 (NE) 519 clear none 20:01 31 11 9 12 (NNE) 513 clear none 21:01 31 11 13 18 (NNE) 885 clear none 22:01 32 9 17 21 (NNE) 407 clear none 23:01 35 14 17 61 (ENE) 187 clear none 00:01 36 14 31 58 (ENE) 229 clear none 01:01 35 14 9 97 (E) 160 clear none 02:01 37 18 24 70 (ENE) 118 clear none 03:01 36 19 21 71 (ENE) 142 clear none 04:01 37 21 12 92 (E) 138 clear none 05:01 36 21 10 68 (ENE) 163 clear none 06:01 36 22 20 75 (ENE) 194 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
