Skies remained clear and seeing was very good. In fact the Sloan observers reported a record breaking seeing measurement for them of better than 0.7 arcsec on all of their imaging detectors. At the beginning of the night our seeing agreed quite well with theirs. 2nd half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half continued clear, with seeing ranging from excellent to moderate. The updated slitview software worked quite well, and there were fewer minor difficulties than last night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:59 dis-slit -210(506) 184 59 6.4/8.0 327 9 - 0.75 18:59 NA2gdr 342(41342) 185 59 6.4/8.0 327 9 R 0.7 00:18 DISslit -150(458) 57 65 6.3/5.8 270 10 - 1.35 00:22 NA2gdr -48(40951) 57 66 6.4/5.8 244 10 R 1.04 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 46 4 4 3 (N) 105 clear none 17:01 45 1 5 337 (NNW) 92 clear none 18:01 45 0 6 357 (N) 58 clear none 19:01 44 -1 8 333 (NNW) 71 clear none 20:01 44 0 6 297 (WNW) 87 clear none 21:01 45 0 4 269 (W) 49 clear none 22:01 44 -1 6 286 (WNW) 40 clear none 23:01 44 -1 6 265 (W) 39 clear none 00:01 43 -2 8 251 (WSW) 36 clear none 01:01 43 -1 11 263 (W) 16 clear none 02:01 43 -1 10 267 (W) 13 clear none 03:01 42 -3 7 281 (W) 40 clear none 04:01 42 -1 10 305 (NW) 60 clear none 05:01 41 -3 16 318 (NW) 55 clear none 06:01 42 -1 16 328 (NNW) 55 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
