I filed a problem report. After uncovering the cloud camera I discovered that the controlling computer, hoggpt, was dead. Upon further inspection it had a corrupted file system. With Craig Loomis' assistance I repaired the filesystem and got the machine active again. While repairing the filesystem it was discovered that the guider monitor had frozen due to being unable to retrieve cloud camera images. I modified the guider software and created a new version that could be used without the cloud camera. Once I was again able to get cloud camera up and running I discovered that the telescope position overlay software was not working. I emailed Craig about this and he apparently fixed this from home. The seeing fluctuated widely but on average around 1 arcsecond the first half. Second Half Observing Specialist: R. McMillan Second half was boring in the best possible way, with photometric skies and stable seeing just under an arcsecond. Even the focus required less attention than usual. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:49 GrIm2(f/5) 0(450) 189 75 1.4/2.1 338 10 K' 0.67 18:41 GrIm2(f/5) 0(440) 178 73 2.9/1.9 323 19 J 0.70 19:07 GrIm2(f/5) 150(580) 125 76 3.2/2.2 326 9 H 1.02 19:43 GrIm2(f/5) 150(579) 159 81 3.2/2.3 312 11 H 0.65 20:16 NA2gdr 158(60158) 206 80 2.1/2.2 331 13 clear 0.73 21:05 GrIm2(f/5) 150(472) 138 69 2.4/1.8 338 16 J 0.71 21:07 NA2gdr -2041(57958) 139 69 2.2/1.9 304 16 clear 1.06 22:12 GrIm2(f/5) 150(451) 268 74 2.6/2.0 344 15 J 0.81 00:10 SPIcam -75(629) 60 57 2.5/2.1 346 13 z 0.95 00:17 NA2gdr -1500(59500) 22 46 2.6/2.1 328 14 R 1.08 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 37 -6 15 27 (NNE) 88 clear none 17:01 36 -7 13 8 (N) 119 clear none 18:01 35 -1 9 322 (NW) 195 clear none 19:01 37 1 18 322 (NW) 25 clear none 20:01 37 1 13 336 (NNW) 53 clear none 21:01 37 7 6 302 (WNW) 48 clear none 22:01 37 14 13 344 (NNW) 387 clear none 23:01 37 15 14 319 (NW) 418 clear none 00:01 37 13 11 2 (N) 381 clear none 01:01 38 4 18 357 (N) 122 clear none 02:01 39 2 11 352 (N) 35 clear none 03:01 39 3 7 343 (NNW) 29 clear none 04:01 38 4 19 339 (NNW) 13 clear none 05:01 37 6 22 2 (N) 27 clear none 06:01 36 3 6 5 (N) 15 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
