Cullen Blake logged in at sunset to try to get some SPIcam flats, since he was scheduled during the middle of the night and would not be able to get them otherwise. Cullen finished around 18:10 and Don York was already busy taking echelle cals. I switched over to the echelle and focused for Don. Seeing was around 1.6 arc sec. I also did a pointing correction and Don was on his way capturing photons for the night. The wind started picking up (as the direction shifted to the N) around 20:00. We kept bouncing just above closure limits, but since we were facing almost 180 degrees away from the wind AND there was no appreciable mirror shake, I opted to let Don keep catching photons. Around 20:35 the Echelle Slitviewer ICC locked up. A hard reboot was required (unplug power). All was fine after that. Seeing blew up to over 2 arc sec after midnight. It settled back down to around an arc sec or so around 03:00. No other problems other than the crashed Echelle ICC during the first half of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEGDFVO) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- UC02 E I/H 20:33 20:39 Echelle ICC froze.
