Shortly after 21:30, however, I stepped outside to find clear skies. I opened the cloudcam and watched clouds come and go for a little while before giving in to a sucker hole. We were able to open for an hour, focus, and get science on two targets before the clouds grew thicker and threatening. I closed the dome again, and within half an hour the rain sensor triggered. 2nd half Observing Specialist: W. Ketzeback The sky seemed to cooperate be 03:00 and I opened the enclosure at 03:05. Clouds again reappeared and I closed up at 04:00. Opened again at 04:20. Sky clouded again at twilight while the observer was collecting flats but they did not appear threatening so remained open until 06:35. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:26 SPIcam -50(815) 188 57 10.6/11.9 211 17 r' 0.98 22:30 NA2gdr -1964(58034) 189 57 10.6/11.7 200 13 R 1.25 03:24 SPIcam 130(938) 187 73 10.2/10.4 269 13 r' 0.69 03:37 NA2gdr 1860(62858) 187 73 10.0/10.3 275 11 R 0.7 04:35 SPIcam 130(938)) 197 40 10.0/10.0 279 12 r' 1.0 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 56 36 7 263 (W) 299 overcast sprinkles 17:01 55 37 5 257 (WSW) 383 overcast sprinkles 18:01 54 37 10 210 (SSW) 366 overcast sprinkles 19:01 53 37 10 194 (SSW) 335 overcast sprinkles 20:01 52 38 14 205 (SSW) 290 cloudy none 21:01 52 40 17 217 (SW) 169 mstly cldy none 22:01 51 40 18 206 (SSW) 257 ptly cldy none 23:01 50 42 18 221 (SW) 264 mstly cldy sprinkles 00:01 50 43 14 210 (SSW) 139 ptly cldy none 01:01 51 41 10 266 (W) 147 mstly cldy sprinkles 02:01 50 42 7 264 (W) 245 ptly cldy none 03:01 50 42 12 268 (W) 311 ptly cldy none 04:01 50 43 11 268 (W) 322 ptly cldy none 05:01 50 44 9 298 (WNW) 267 ptly cldy none 06:01 51 43 10 265 (W) 235 ptly cldy none 07:01 51 42 11 260 (W) 199 mstly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
