Dembicky Started the cooling fans around 17:00 tonight. Since our internet connection was down tonight, I did service observing for Suzanne. I opened the enclosure around 19:50 under cirrus cloud conditions and focused the instrument. Seeing was around 1 arc sec. I got a spectra of the reference star that Suzanne wanted but when I attempted to image the first object on the slitviewer window the clouds were just too thick. Since I could get nothing useful with the cloud cover, I decided to close the enclosure around 20:35. Things started to improve around 02:20 and I opened the enclosure at 02:40. I contacted the UW03 at 02:30 and they said that they had already observed their targets (they were doing simultaneous observations) and they were giving the remaining time up. Don York was on site so I offered the time to him, which he accepted. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:00 DISslit -130(851) 87 59 14.2/16.8 209 18 none 1.06 02:54 Echelle 29(97) 161 40 11.9/13.1 176 21 ND2 1.89 03:47 Echelle 49((27) 148 49 11.4/12.2 179 16 ND2 1.07 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 64 27 23 207 (SSW) 307 Mst.
