Ketzeback, J. Dembicky Overcast skies that led to heavy rainfall at sunset. When attempting test slews at the beginning of the evening the telescope moved in azimuth but not altitude. Further investigation resulted in finding the circuit breaker for the Observing Level Pit utility power tripped. The altitude motors and rotator are powered from this circuit. The breaker was reset and test slews were completed. The skies continued to be overcast with returning storms around 2300. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan Second half remained unusable, with a little more rain, persistent high humidity, and clouds most of the time. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 63 50 12 220 (SW) 251 Overcast 17:01 58 48 11 196 (SSW) 293 Overcast 18:01 55 48 11 176 (S) 304 Overcast hvy rain 19:01 48 47 23 22 (NNE) 950 Overcast rain 20:01 50 44 8 85 (E) 271 Overcast 21:01 49 45 14 180 (S) 189 Overcast 22:01 50 45 12 155 (SSE) 191 Overcast 23:01 49 44 8 134 (SE) 200 Overcast rain 00:01 47 45 7 183 (S) 216 cloudy rain 01:01 47 45 3 127 (SE) 238 cloudy rain 02:01 49 47 4 178 (S) 1823 cloudy none 03:01 50 47 8 183 (S) 399 ptly cldy none 04:01 48 47 0 46 (NE) 495 ptly cldy none 05:01 49 48 2 193 (SSW) 581 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
