After 02:00, the humidity began to drop, but it took a while for the clouds to thin out. We finally opened at 03:45 and had enough time to focus and get a couple of science exposures (on a third-magnitude star!) before the clouds returned. Another opening presented itself shortly before twilight, and we took advantage of that until the sky was too bright for science. Despite the poor seeing conditions and limited time, the observer said he was able to finish two science targets. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 03:49 Echelle -150(-244) 91 43 9.7/11.2 135 22 ND2 1.76 05:22 Echelle 100(-102) 108 62 9.1/10.0 128 17 ND1 1.49 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 52 52 5 244 (WSW) 4728 cloudy fog 17:01 54 51 12 141 (SE) 441 cloudy none 18:01 56 51 7 186 (S) 304 cloudy none 19:01 52 49 8 132 (SE) 294 cloudy none 20:01 52 49 11 123 (ESE) 336 cloudy none 21:01 51 49 15 112 (ESE) 273 cloudy none 22:01 51 49 17 112 (ESE) 303 cloudy none 23:01 51 49 17 110 (ESE) 245 ptly cldy none 00:01 50 48 15 112 (ESE) 294 ptly cldy none 01:01 50 47 15 114 (ESE) 349 mstly cldy none 02:01 50 46 21 126 (SE) 372 mstly cldy none 03:01 50 46 17 136 (SE) 426 ptly cldy none 04:01 49 45 17 141 (SE) 354 mstly cldy none 05:01 49 45 19 147 (SSE) 377 ptly cldy none 06:01 49 45 13 158 (SSE) 417 ptly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
